CJ Watson  (Freshman, University of Miami ) – Piano:

It’s Gonna Be Okay (CJ Watson)


CJ plays piano, sings, and also composes music.  He has played several promotional gigs around the Atlanta area.  CJ is now studying at the University of Miami , where he has a scholarship to pursue a Bachelors Degree in Music Business.   This recording was made at a recital hall in Duluth , GA.

Marcus Ratzenboeck – Violin & Esther Cheng-Martin - Piano:

Marcus Ratzenboeck has been the Principal Second Violin of the Louisville Orchestra since 2000.  He has been violin faculty at the University of Louisville and the Second Violinist of the Louisville String Quartet since 2001.  Marcus has a Masters in Violin from Indiana University , where he studied with Henryk Kowalski and Yuval Yaron.  This recording is from a concert performed at a recital hall in Duluth , GA in November of 2005.

Esther Cheng-Martin has been performing and teaching piano lessons in the Atlanta area since 1998.  A native of Taiwan , she began studying piano at the age of five and violin at the age of nine.  An experienced performer as soloist, accompanist, and chamber musician, she has a long list of accomplishments to her credit.  Esther earned a Masters of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Illinois .  She is nationally certified by MTNA and recently served as the President of the North Fulton Music Teachers Association.

David Northington – Piano:

Four Piano Blues, Soft and Languid (Copland)


Dr. David Northington is Professor of Piano at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville .  At his New York debut recital at Carnegie Recital Hall, the New York Times called David Northington “an immensely gifted musician…who combines the technical mastery of a virtuoso with the musical sensitivity of a poet.”   Such critical accolades have followed Northington throughout the world in concerts and concerto engagements.  His tours have included the United States , Eastern and Western Europe , Canada , China , and Russia .  In addition to recitals and concerto engagements, he has given master classes at many of the leading conservatories in these countries.  This fall, there will be an international release of Northington’s compact disc recording of the waltzes of Chopin on the Centaur Records label.  The Aaron Copland piece on this page was recorded during a live concert in Roswell , GA.
